Healthy Horse gram Rasam ( Huruli kalu rasam)

Ingredients

·       Horse gram                     - 2 tablespoon
·       Tomato                          - 2
·       Daniya powder               - ¼ teaspoon
·       Cumin powder                - 1 teaspoon
·       Rasam powder                - 1 teaspoon
·       Chilli powder                 - ½ teaspoon
·       Pepper powder               - ¼ teaspoon
·       Garlic pods                    - 5
·       Tamarind juice               - 2 table spoon
·       Salt to taste

For Seasoning

·       Oil                      -1 table spoon
·       Mustard seeds     - ½ teaspoon
·       Cumin seeds       - ¼ teaspoon
·       Dry red chilli      - 1
·       Asafoetida          - ¼ teaspoon
·       Curry leaves       - few
·       Coriander leaves for Garnishing


Method

·   Fry the horse gram without oil, make powder & crush the garlic
·   Take the cooking pan add all the above ingredients including horse gram powder & crushed garlic - add 3 glasses of water & let it boil for 10 minutes
·   Slow down the flame – heat the kadai with oil add all the above seasonings &  fry
·   Add seasonings to rasam, switch off the stove
·   Garnishing with coriander leaves & close the lid
·   Now the healthy & spicy rasam ready to serve. Have this rasam with hot white rice & papad.
